Global Entry is a U.S. government program that allows expedited clearance for pre-approved, low-risk travelers upon arrival in the United States. To qualify for Global Entry, applicants must be a citizen or lawful permanent resident of the U.S., have a valid passport, and complete an application with Customs and Border Protection (CBP).
Once approved, members will receive a Known Traveler Number (KTN) that they can use to clear customs more quickly at 15 airports in the U.S., as well as participate in TSA PreCheck screening lanes at select airports across the country.
The cost of applying for Global Entry is $100 which includes the $85 fee to CBP and an $18 fee to SENTRI which handles the processing of applications at ports of entry. As part of the application process, you’ll also need to schedule an interview appointment. With a CBP officer at one of their enrollment centers in the U.S.

- Have a valid U.S. passport and a digital passport photo on file with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP)
- Be able to meet all requirements at an enrollment center
- The following are not eligible for Global Entry:
- Persons under 14 years old or over 79 years old
Permanent residents (green card holders) of the U.S., or nationals from an eligible country who do not reside in the U.S., are not eligible for the Global Entry Program unless they have a valid U.S Passport
